Nursing is a varied and fulfilling career, with a huge number of job opportunities across the West Midlands. that when you choose to study nursing you’ll receive a payment of at least £5,000 a year towards living costs, which you won’t need to pay back.

At Worcester, we’ll teach you the theory of nursing while developing your clinical skills in our specialist facilities, which simulate the ward environment. You’ll be immersed into different clinical scenarios, learning in a safe, supportive setting.

The typical route into nursing is a three-year degree programme. You can choose to study our Nursing BSc degree in three different fields of practice: Adult, Children’s or Mental Health. Other routes into nursing are explored further down this page.

Other routes into nursing

Depending on your qualifications and experiences you may want to consider alternative routes to become a nurse. Nursing Associate FdSc and Health and Social Care FdSc are both foundation level qualifications in their own right, they also offer flexible progression opportunities onto our BSc (Hons) registered nurse programme.

Another option is our Healthcare Foundation Year which will equip you with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed on your journey towards a successful career in healthcare. We also offer a Return to Nursing Practice course for nurses whose registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has lapsed.
